The Communications Committee stays engaged with our pilots through several platforms to keep everyone up-to-date on current events and important information. These platforms include Hotline emails, Facebook and Instagram, crew room Electronic Bulletin Boards, and TextCaster. We incorporate these features collectively so that the communication can be transmitted and received in a variety of ways to meet the needs of all of our pilots.

The Hotline emails are published every other week, usually on Thursdays. We include updates from all of our committees on anything pertinent that the chairmen feel you should be aware of. If you have an idea for an article or are asked to submit work to be published in a weekly Hotline, please send an email to the Hotline team at CPZhotline@alpa.org by the end of the business day on Monday for publication that week. The Communications Committee also publishes urgent messages from various committee chairmen or the MEC on an as needed basis.

Our social media pages include Facebook and Instagram under the handle @CompassPilots. We typically post once or twice a week on a variety of topics with the intent to stay connected with our pilots and provide useful content. This platform can also be used by all of you as another means of contacting the MEC with any questions or concerns by leaving a comment on one of the posts or sending us a direct message.

The Electronic Bulletin Boards (EBBs) are yet another way for the MEC to reach our pilots with beneficial information. They are located in all of our crew rooms so that pilots can view detailed slides on various subjects while they are hanging out. The EBBs also include the dates that awards are posted each month as well as a countdown sidebar for important upcoming events.

Finally, TextCaster is a mobile feature that allows the MEC to send text alerts directly to your mobile devices. These alerts include reminders pertaining to upcoming dates such as vacation bidding windows. Signing up is easy and free, click the link on the home page of this website to enroll.
