Welcome to the Compass MEC PBS Committee page!

On this page you will find a number of resources for pilots to utilize while using Compass’ PBS system. The PBS committee functions as one of the standing MEC committees, and its members assist Pilots with all aspects of the bidding process including:

  •  General Questions
  •  Assistance in creating an initial bid
  •  Adjusting your bid to help you achieve the highest number of preferences per your seniority
  • Interpreting your bidding results

For our New Hire Pilots, we encourage you to visit the New Hire PBS guide, which is a short summary of the PBS system, and includes information on the basics of our PBS system, how to bid for a Reserve Line, and how to effectively bid for a Split Duty Period (SDP) Line. The New Hire PBS Guide can be found here.

Additionally, the committee has prepared a full PBS guide that covers the following topics:

  • Bidding 101
  • System Logic and Concepts
  • Bidding for Normal, Split Duty, Build-up, and Reserve
  • Bidding Strategy Example
  • Frequently Asked Questions.

The PBS Guide can be found here.  If you still have a question after reading the PBS guide, please contact the committee by submitting a request here.
