Welcome to the Military Affairs page! Your Military Affairs Committee stands ready to advise, assist, and educate on the various nuances of the four services and how that interacts with your capacity as a line pilot here at Compass. We know that juggling two professional careers, flying and the military, can be a daunting task. We stand here to help.
What We Do:
- Advise, assist, and educate on the Provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement as well as the USSERA Act about the performance of Military Duties.
- Outreach, mentorship, and support in the transition from military aviator to civilian aviator.
- Remain engaged in all levels of the ALPA Organization, from local chapters to the National Level, advocating for dual status pilots/service members.
Your Military Affairs Committee:
Josh, Andrew, and Derik all serve as volunteers within the Committee, and we are actively seeking volunteers to perform service as Marine Corps and Navy subject matter experts. We are all either currently serving or have served in some form or capacity within the Guard/Reserve of all Branches. We will do our utmost to assist you when it comes to your military service obligations, or will find the answer out for you in a prompt manner.
