Welcome to the Security Committee website!

The Security Council's motto is "Never Again". From this simple statement the ALPA Security Council works tirelessly on making sure our skies are safe for both us and our passengers. With threats ever present the Security Council is working on issues to include, Secondary Barriers, funding for the FFDO program, Laser Strikes, Known Crewmember, and also Cargo Carrier Security.

In 2018 a crewmember is still a prime target, not only for terrorists but also for petty street crime. It is imperative that a crewmember stay vigilant even while off duty. There is a set of ALPA videos "Street Smarts" that address crew member safety while on the road. We encourage everyone to take the time to watch. Also on the website there is a link titled "Security Briefings." This website gives you a comprehensive look around the world. Not only does it address security issues but it also looks at medical and weather threats. This is a great way to stay educated and vigilant on places you plan to travel for work or leisure.

In the past the Security Council has helped with issues concerning Federal Air Marshalls and TSA issues. We continue to help with issues involving Known Crewmember, the FFDO program, and Hotel Security. Please contact the Compass Security Committee with any security related questions, concerns, or suggestions.
